This post is an announcement of sorts.
For the past two months I’ve been experimenting with the audience and focus of Your Goodness Guide. All signs are pointing me to narrow the goodness onto the 21st century motherhood journey with a special proclivity for new moms and moms of younger kids. I’m deep in it right now as a mom to a 6-year-old and “step mom” of sorts to five kids and three grandkids. (gulp!)
As Henry Ward Beecher, a 19th century abolitionist said, “The mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom.” It’s never been more true than now. So, let’s all take care of moms; the future of the human race depends on them.
Here’s a little of what you can expect going forward:
- Nurturing conversation and ideas for mom’s mind, body and spirit
- Exercises to help close the gap between where you are and where you want to be
- Resources for conscious parenting in a (sometimes isolating) modern environment
- Good natured humor to blow off steam and remind ourselves not to take it too seriously (think video of shark getting a belly rub)
If you’re not a mom in the traditional sense, stick around awhile! In our kooky society, we all play different roles to different people. Chances are that you “mother” someone in some fashion.
This blog is for the mom in all of us.
